Back from Ann Arbor; New Pillows Added on Etsy

I’m back from the State Street Art Fair in Ann Arbor, MI and unpacked the tent, screens, shelving and–well, you get the idea!

It’s always an experience doing a new show and this one was no exception. The streets of downtown Ann Arbor are almost completely taken up by artist tents right in the street–it’s amazing to see the booths come together from the ground up on Tuesday afternoon and evening to be ready for the show opening on Wednesday.

Of course it’s an outdoor venue and we had different weather nearly every day–one day was over 100 degrees, another it rained, and another it was sunny and very pleasant. Visitors were cheerful no matter what the weather–I met lots of new people and got some great positive feedback on my work.

Since my next show is the Downtown Art Festival in Gainesville, FL in October, I put some new pillows in my shop on etsy.com, like Purple Wonky Circles at right. These pillows are made from hand dyed fabric I purchase from the wonderful folks at Cherrywood Fabrics and they have fun wonky circles that seem to dance across the surface. The quilting is simple lines with variegated thread. They have an envelope back closure and the pillow form is included, so they’re ready to go. Cleaning is easy–just a lint brush now and then–or they can be washed if necessary.
