“Playing with Crayons” Cindy Grisdela

I’m delighted to announce that my wall quilt “Playing with Crayons” has been published in the International Quilt Festival: Quilt Scene magazine by Interweave Press!

I just received my copy of the magazine and it’s beautiful. My quilt is one of about 16 projects in the issue, which will be on the stands until the end of January. If you click here, you can see a description of the magazine and its contents–be sure to scroll down to see “Crayons” as one of the featured quilts!

This is my second project published by Interweave–the first was a Wonky Stripe Pillow published earlier this year in their Modern Patchwork publication. Click here to see that magazine, and be sure to click on the “Table of Contents” to see a fabulous picture of a little boy hugging my pillow.

“Playing with Crayons” has a special place in my heart. It was one of the first quilts I made that fully expressed my love of color and improvisational design, and I’m happy to share it! This quilt is 56″ square and makes a bold statement on a large wall. A year or so ago I made a smaller version, which is 36″ square and is available in my Etsy shop.

To make your holiday shopping easy, I have pillows and coasters available at The Artisans shop at 1368 Chain Bridge Road in McLean, plus coasters, journal covers and more at the Reston Museum Holiday Show at Lake Anne Plaza. I’ll be at Three Days with the Artists in Great Falls Nov. 30-Dec. 2 and at the Great Falls Studios Holiday Art Show and Sale Dec. 8-9 at the Village Green Day School, 790 Walker Road, Great Falls. I hope to see you soon!
