Island Hopping 2014 Cindy Grisdela

Island Hopping 2014 Cindy Grisdela

I’m getting ready to pack up the car and head down to Atlanta for the American Craft Council show coming up this weekend.

This is my first year doing this show and I’m really looking forward to it! It runs March 14 through March 16. Hours are 10-8 Friday, 10-6 Saturday, and 11-5 Sunday.

Island Hopping, at left, is one of my newest pieces that will be on display at the show. I’m excited about this series, which plays on the traditional log cabin design in a more contemporary interpretation. The colors are a little brighter than they appear in this image. This piece is 28″ long by 36″ wide.

In addition, my Red Totem wall hanging, at right, will be featured in one of the Make Room vignettes at the show arranged by Atlanta designer Erika Hollinshead Ward. For this program, the ACC invites designers to set up room-sized spaces featuring artwork from the artists in the show to help visitors visualize the art in the context of an interior. It’s a fun part of the show and I’m thrilled to have one of my pieces chosen this year. I’m looking forward to seeing what Erika comes up with!

The show is located in North Atlanta at the Cobb Galleria Centre, 2 Galleria Parkway. If you want to get your tickets in advance at a discount, click here or you can get in for free if you join the American Craft Council for a year. There will be over 200 of the nation’s top contemporary craft artists in jewelry, ceramics, furniture, clothing and decorative fiber at the show. It’s a great opportunity to see what’s new and exciting this year.

I’m in Booth 1404 and I’d love to see you if you’re in the Atlanta area this coming weekend!

Mark your calendars if you’re in the Boston area for the Craftboston Spring show April 4-6 at The Cyclorama at the Boston Center for the Arts–that’s my next show.
