Set up for Craftboston 2014 opening Cindy Grisdela

My booth is all set up for the opening of Craftboston Spring today. The show is in a new location this year, at the Cyclorama at the Boston Center for the Arts, and it’s easily the most beautiful venue I’ve ever exhibited in. It’s an old building with lovely brick floors, which go well with my quilts!

I’m excited about my newest piece, City Streets, which you can see in the upper left of the photo. It’s a triptych of three panels in different shades of mushroom with vertical lines of color. The composition flows along the panels, as does the quilting. I’ve never done something that like before and it was a little bit of a logistical challenge, but everything worked out! I’ll get a close up photo today and share it a little later. It took me five and half hours to get set up yesterday, and I’m afraid my brain wasn’t working as quickly as it should have been by the end of the day, or I would have thought to get the photo when I took this one. Such is the life of an show artist!

The Cyclorama is located at 539 Tremont St. in Boston. There are 90 talented artists in the show with everything from jewelry to wearables, ceramic to furniture, wood to glass. We’re open 10-7 today, 10-6 on Saturday, and 11-5 on Sunday. I’m in Booth 413 and I’d love to see you there.
