Machine Quilting Unlimited Magazine Sept/Oct 2014

I had a surprise in my mailbox the other day–a copy of the latest issue of Machine Quilting Unlimited magazine, which features my quilts on its “Art Studio” pages.

They did such a great job laying out the pages and arranging the images–it’s great fun to see the quilts all in one place! The article tells the story of how I got started in quilting and where my journey has taken me over the years. And I got a kick out of seeing my name on the cover.

I have an extra copy of the magazine, which I’m happy to give away to the seventh person to comment on this post. Send me a note and tell me what you think!

And here’s a copy of the cover so you know what it looks like and what else is in this issue–it’s chockful of great ideas and inspiration. It’s the September/October 2014 issue if you want to find it in your local shop, or click on the MQU link above to order it directly from the company.

Thanks so much to the editors and publishers of MQU for this great opportunity.

My work is on exhibit this month at the US Geological Survey in Reston, VA as part of the “Sea of Sticks and Stones” all media exhibit organized by Great Falls Studios. The USGS is located at 12201 Sunrise Valley Drive in Reston and is open during business hours, 8-5 Monday-Friday. It’s a government facility, so a photo ID is required to enter.

I’m also part of an all fiber exhibit called “The Color of Sunburn” at the Artists’ Atelier located at 1144 Walker Road, Suite G in Great Falls, VA. The exhibit is open Wednesday and Saturday from 12-4 PM, and other times by appointment. There will be an opening reception tomorrow, Saturday September 13 from 1-4 PM.

And mark your calendars for the Great Falls Studios 2014 Annual Studio Tour, open three days this year on October 17, 18, and 19 from 10-5 each day. I’ll be in my space at the Artists’ Atelier with lots of new work to show!

Two weeks after that, I’m excited to participate in the Washington Craft Show at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in downtown Washington, DC, being held October 31-November 2.

I hope to see you soon!
