All Set at the One of A Kind Show in Chicago!
I’m all set up for the One of A Kind Show this weekend! The show starts tomorrow–Thursday, December 1 and runs through Sunday, December 4. I’m in my usual booth–#3063.
I always enjoy setup days–even though they are usually long and tiring. It’s fun to hear the hammering and clanging as the booths take shape. There’s lots of possibility on setup day and everyone is excited. This is my third year doing this show in the same booth location, so it was fun to reconnect with my neighbors from previous years.
This show takes place on the seventh floor of the Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago. The show provides hard walls for each booth included in the booth fee, so I don’t need my panels. That means I can fly here on Southwest with my work packed in two 50 lb. suitcases. I’m always a little anxious about checking the bags with all my art, but there was no problem this time! You can see the two big suitcases on the floor in the photo above.
There are over 600 artists at the One of a Kind show–so it’s a festive atmosphere with lots of choices for gift purchases–even if the gift is for yourself!
I’m thrilled that my Lime Medley wall hanging was juried into the Fine Art Gallery at the show, which is just across the aisle from my booth! They hadn’t finished hanging the gallery when I left this afternoon, so I’ll try to get a photo tomorrow.
Hours are 11-8 Thursday and Friday, 10-7 Saturday, and 10-5 Sunday. Click here to get your tickets online and avoid having to wait in line.
In addition to wall art in various sizes and colors, I’ll have signed copies of my new book–Artful Improv. Maybe it would be a great gift for the quilter or fiber artist in your life.
If you’re in the Chicago area this weekend and have time to stop by, I’d love to see you!
