I got two “fat emails” recently–one offering me a contract to teach at the International Quilt Festival in Houston in November, and the other a jury acceptance as an Artful Home artist!

I’m beyond excited about this!

I’ll be teaching two classes at Houston in 2017. One is my “Take the Fear out of Curved Piecing” table runner class.

And the other is my “Improv Color Blocks” wall hanging class. “Improv Color Blocks” is an adaptation of a class I teach using improv blocks and asymmetrical sashing. The project for this class will be a smaller version of “Summer Breeze” below.

I’ll be sharing more information about these classes as the time gets closer!

Artful Home has a beautiful website at ArtfulHome.com and they put out a gorgeous full color catalog on a regular basis. Visit my new page here. All of their accepted artists are from the US or Canada. This is part of the mission statement from their website: “Art is our passion. We are dedicated to offering the most exceptional and beautiful works of fine art, craft, and design for your home and wardrobe. We are equally committed to supporting the livelihoods of the celebrated North American artists who create this work.”

Each piece has its own page with a full description, large photo and the ability to mouse over the image to see the details. The artist maintains his or her own inventory and when you order a piece of art, the artist pack and ships it to you, so you have a connection to the person who created the art you love. That seems pretty cool to me!

I’m honored to be part of this and I have seven art quilts on the site right now. I will be adding others as they become available.

Also, I’m excited to be teaching my “Artful Improv – Permission to Play” class at Intown Quilters in Decatur, GA on Saturday, February 18, and making my first trip to QuiltCon in Savannah the following weekend! Stay tuned!
