Cover of 1000 Quilt InspirationsI’ve just been notified that my work has been chosen to be in another book!

It’s called 1000 Quilt Inspirations, curated by Sandra Sider, and it’s being published in February 2015. I can’t wait to see what it looks like!

This book will be a little different, because it is a collection of quilt “details.” Think of it like a quilt within a quilt. My painting friends are mystified by this, but when I have one of my quilts professionally photographed, I almost always ask for a “detail shot,” which is a closeup of a section of the quilt that I think is particularly interesting and that shows the texture of the stitching well. Sometimes you can’t see the stitching well in the larger overall shot, so the detail gives the opportunity to get up close and really see what’s happening with the texture.

Curator Sandra Sider is a quilt artist and independent curator in New York who has written extensively about fiber and textile art. She is a former president of Studio Art Quilt Associates and a consulting curator for the Texas Quilt Museum. The book covers all kinds of quilts, from traditional to modern to art quilts, so there’s sure to be something for everyone to be inspired by.

If you’d like to preorder the book, click here to go to the publisher’s website. It’s got a great cover, don’t you think?!
