Hard to believe that my show season is over for 2014! I did twelve shows this year–more than I’ve ever done in the past–and it was a great year to meet new people and share my work with new audiences.

The One of A Kind Show in Chicago was my last show of the year this past weekend, and it ended with a bang! Seven pieces went to new homes, including Central Park and Townhouses, at left. The purchaser wanted two pieces to hang together and I had fun rearranging the walls of the booth so she could see how different pieces worked together!

I enjoyed spending a little time with each of the purchasers of my work last weekend, and I appreciate their support deeply, as well as the support of everyone who stopped by my booth to chat about my art. That’s one of the satisfying things about doing shows–connecting with admirers and talking about art. Sometimes people apologize that they aren’t able to buy anything, and I always tell them how much it means to me that they took the time to stop and give me their reaction to my work–it means the world to me and it helps to get new ideas and insights for when I go back into the studio to create.

My youngest son is graduating from college this weekend, so I’m going to take some time off and enjoy his accomplishment with my family. Plus I haven’t had time to do anything about the holidays–which are fast approaching!

My show schedule is already shaping up for 2015–I’ll share the details in my next post, but the first show of 2015 will be the American Craft Council show in Baltimore February 20-22, 2015. Mark your calendars!
