"Intuition" Cindy Grisdela 2010

My two pieces, “Intuition” and “Amber Harvest,” currently hanging in the Naples Contemporary Craft Exhibition in Naples, FL, were included in a review of the show in the April 20, 2011 Naples Daily News. Click here for the online version. I’m pleased to be one of 26 artists from around the country chosen to be in this exhibit. I haven’t seen it yet, but I expect to get down there before the show closes on June 15, 2011.

opening reception last month. While you’re there, stop by and visit my page at Cindy Grisdela Art Quilts too. I’ve put up a photo album of all 30 of my March Project quilts.

This has been a busy week–I’ve been working on my commission all week, but yesterday I took a break and gave a talk to the McLean, VA Newcomers Club about my work. It was a fun afternoon–I took a sampling of my wall hangings to illustrate my discussion of my journey from a tradtional quilter who did everything by hand to an art quilter using color, line and texture to create eye-catching compositions. They were a very attentive audience and had lots of good questions!

These quilts are lovely! I love the combination of pattern and plain.
