of the Great Falls Connection newspaper today! What a nice surprise just in time for the Great Falls Studios Tour this weekend.

The picture shows me standing in front of the design wall in my studio, where I had several pieces in progress at once–a common occurrence for me! The article is about my project earlier this year to create 30 quilts in 30 days. They’re all finished now and will be on display during the tour, Saturday and Sunday, October 15 and 16, from 10 AM – 5 PM both days. Of course, none of the quilts from this project are as big as the ones on the design wall! They’re more like 16″ x 20.”

Visit www.greatfallsstudios.com to download a map and brochure to help you plan your visit. The tour is a free driving tour of 48 artists in 28 venues, many of them home studios that aren’t usually open to the public–like mine. You can chat with painters, photographers, jewelers and potters, see interesting demonstrations, and celebrate creativity. Plus you might find a unique gift for someone special–or maybe just for yourself!

I hope you’ll have time to stop by–I’d love to see you!

It was a special delight for me to see you on the front cover of the Connection when I unfolded it yesterday. I hope it brings more visitors to your studio home this weekend. You are doing a great and wonderful thing to educate people about what being a quilter can mean in today’s world. My wish for you is to have a fun and fulfilling weekend sharing your art and inspiration with your visitors.
