Holiday Coasters in Progress November 2012

I’m back in the studio today after a successful Great Falls Studios Artist Boutique at Artspace Herndon. I enjoyed seeing some of you and meeting some new friends as well!

I’m participating in three shows in the next four weeks, plus there’s Thanksgiving to prepare, so it’s time to get busy. On the sewing table today were these cheerful holiday coasters in process at left. I like them because they are red and green, but not glaringly so. All my coasters come in sets of four. Each one is slightly different from the others, but they all coordinate. They’re very absorbent and can be thrown in the wash if you spill coffee on them!

I also started putting together some new fabric covered journals and got some ideas going for new pillows. I’m thinking that I’d like to do something new–maybe table runners or eyeglass cases? Something that would be fun to give as a gift. Any ideas?

Next week I drop off some small gift items for the Holiday Sale at the Reston Museum in Lake Anne Plaza. Three Days with the Artists, one of my favorite shows of the year, is the first weekend in December, and the Great Falls Studios Holiday Show and Sale is December 8 -9 at the Village Green School in Great Falls. Mark your calendars! I’ll have more information coming soon.
