Bon-Bon #5 by Melody Johnson

Bon-Bon #5 by Melody Johnson

I’m a longtime fan of Melody Johnson, an extraordinarily talented art quilter with a fabulous sense of color, and I look forward to reading her blog every day. So when she posted last summer that she was going to try something new and make collaborative quilts with any readers who were interested, I jumped at the chance!

Just before Thanksgiving, I got an email from Melody that it was my turn. She asked some questions about what I wanted in terms of size, color and technique. I spent an enjoyable afternoon going through her website and Flickr pages looking at her work and sent her the links to pieces I particularly admired. Then she got to work!

At left is Bon-Bon #5, which is on its way to me as we speak. It has the bright, cheerful colors that I love, plus some really beautiful machine quilting. I can’t wait to see it. The photo is from Melody’s blog.

Thanks Melody!
