Pillow Tops 2014 Cindy Grisdela

Pillow Tops 2014 Cindy Grisdela

Pillows!

At right are five of the twenty pillow tops I’m working on this week. They’ll be shipped to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center  next week to add a touch of color to the rooms in the lodge there. I’ve made pillows for them before, so with this shipment, hopefully there will be Cindy Grisdela pillows in every room!

These are really fun to do, since the only criteria is that they coordinate with the dark green bedcoverings in the rooms. So I have a lot of leeway to try new design ideas and color combinations–which of course is right up my alley! For some reason my camera is adding a lot of yellow to my photos, so the colors aren’t exactly true, but you get the idea. I’m quilting them today, then I’ll put the backs on and insert a fluffy pillow form and they’ll be all ready to go.

After the pillows are shipped, I’ll be working on some new small pieces for my next show–Art in the High Desert in Bend, OR. This is my second year doing this show and I’m really looking forward to it! It’s a beautiful venue on the banks of the Deschutes River in Bend–if you’re in the area, definitely make plans to stop by! Of course it’s a little bit more of a production to get me and my work to the West Coast than most of the other shows I do, but with a little extra time and planning, everything gets shipped out. Except the tent–I rent a tent out there.

If you’re interested in having my blog posts delivered right to your inbox, instead of having to remember to come by and check, I’ve added a signup box in the right sidebar. Just scroll down to where it says “Subscribe to Blog via Email,” enter your email address and you’ll be all set up!

Thanks for reading and for your interest in my work. Can you believe it’s August already? Enjoy your weekend and the rest of summer!

Cinday, these are beautiful and what a great way to get ART infiltrated into sports! Craftsbury looks like a great place! Always love to see what you are doing, thanks for sharing.
