Blue and yellow "Lemon Drop" quilt in process

“Lemon Drop” in process 2015 Cindy Grisdela

It’s just over a week until the Arlington Festival of the Arts, which will take place Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 in Arlington, VA near the Clarendon Metro station.

I’ve been busy in the studio creating new work for the show, including “Lemon Drop” at left. It still needs to be quilted and mounted on a 12″x 12″ canvas painted black. Plus there are more new pieces waiting in the wings!

This is the first year I’ve done this show and I’m looking forward to it. It’s an outdoor venue, located at N. Highland St. and Washington Blvd. in the Clarendon section of Arlington. There will be over 100 artists in a variety of media exhibiting, including painters, photographers, jewelers, sculptors, printmakers, and of course–decorative fiber! It will be fun to do this one close to home.

The show runs from 10-5 both days. They haven’t given me my booth location yet, so I’ll post that as soon as I get it next week.

I’m putting up short blog posts with images on Instagram about every other day now, and I’d be happy for you to follow along at http://instagram.com/cindygrisdelaquilts/ Of course I’m still posting on this blog about once a week. You can follow the blog by signing up on the right sidebar. Thanks for reading!

I have another new show at the end of the month–American Fine Craft Show / Wadsworth Atheneum, April 23-25, 2015, Hartford, CT–and then I’ll be back at the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival, May 16-17, 2015, Reston, VA.

I’d love to see you at any of these events!

May I ask how you mount your quilts to canvas? They look so great in your booth!
