"Jewel Box" Advertising 70 Craftswomen ShowI’m getting ready to go to Princeton, NJ this weekend for a new show–70 Craftswomen + a few good men. And I was surprised to see an advertisement in my inbox yesterday that featured one of my quilts! The colors are pretty striking and definitely catch the eye, I think. This piece is called Jewel Box–and I’m not going to quibble about the fact that it’s presented sideways . . .

The show is going to be held indoors, at the Princeton Westin hotel at Forrestal Village, on Friday, September 23 through Sunday, September 25. Hours are 11-7 on Friday, 10-7 Saturday, and 10-4:30 on Sunday. Admission is $10 for a weekend pass. There will be artists in a variety of media, including jewelry, functional & decorative ceramics, decorative & wearable fiber, leather, blown glass, wood, painting, sculpture, baskets, photography and mixed media.

I think this is an interesting concept, and if you’re in the area, I hope you’ll be able to stop by!

I sent out my newsletter last week and realized I hadn’t shared it here. It’s all about second chances in art and in life, and it features two of my quilts that almost didn’t see the light of day. One of them is Second Chances, which is the detail you see in the featured image above. Click here to read more and let me know what you think.

And if you’d like to have the newsletter arrive in your inbox each month, all you have to do is subscribe to it in the right toolbar. I only use your email to send the newsletter with information about new work, my show schedule, inspiration and process.

Thanks for reading!

I like the simplicity/complexity of the composition.
